Clone RE1327 is an antibody fragment derived from the full CD11c antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.
Clone REAL1327 recognizes the human CD11c antigen, a 145–150 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein, which is also known as integrin αX or ITGAX. Integrins are heterodimeric transmembrane receptors that play a role in cell adhesion and in cell signaling. It has been reported to play a role in adhesion and CTL killing through its interactions with fibrinogen, CD54, and iC3b. Furthermore,CD11c is suggested to stimulate angiogenesis during cancer development. CD11c is expressed on monocytes, granulocytes, macrophages, NK cells, myeloid dendritic cells (MDCs), and subsets of T and B cells. On myeloid dendritic cells, CD11c is highly expressed on type 1 myeloid dendritic cells (CD1c (BDCA-1)+ CD123 low MDC1s) and low on type 2 myeloid dendritic cells (CD1c (BDCA-1)– CD123– MDC2s).
For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
