Clone REAL1363 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Maspin antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.

Clone REAL1363 recognizes Maspin (mammary serine protease inhibitor) that in humans is encoded by the SERPINB5 gene. Maspin has a reported role in cancer biology, functions as tumor suppressor gene in epithelial cells, blocking the growth, invasion, and metastatic properties of mammary tumor. It operates as Biomarker of hepatocellular carcinoma and as prognostic marker in pancreatic and lung cancer.

Maspin is predicted to act upstream of or within several processes, including extracellular matrix organization; prostate gland morphogenesis; and regulation of epithelial cell proliferation.

For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
