MACS GMP PepTivator BKV LT is a peptide pool that consists mainly of 15-mer peptides with 11 amino acids overlap. It has been developed for efficient in vitro stimulation and subsequent isolation of BKV LT-specific CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells.

BKV is a ubiquitous polyomavirus. After primary infection BKV persists in a latent state. Virus reactivation might occur in immunodeficiency or during immunosuppression. The LT antigen is expressed early in the lytic cycle and is involved in virus replication.

Adoptive transfer of BKV LT-specific T cells may be an effective tool for the treatment of BKV-associated infections after stem cell transplantation or solid organ transplantation.^1,2

In vitro stimulation of BKV LT-specific CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells with MACS GMP PepTivator BKV LT causes the production of the effector cytokine IFN-γ. The secretion of IFN-γ then permits the enrichment of BKV LT-specific effector/memory T cells using the CliniMACS^® Cytokine Capture System (IFN-γ).³
