Clone REAL342 is an antibody fragment derived from the full CD238 (KEL) antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAlease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.

Clone REAL342 recognizes the human CD238 antigen, a single-pass type II membrane protein also known as Kell blood group glycoprotein (KEL). CD238 is a highly polymorphic antigen which links via a single disulfide bond to the XK membrane protein that carries the Kx antigen. It is expressed at high levels in erythrocytes and Sertoli cells, and at lower levels in skeletal muscle, in follicular dendritic cells, lymph nodes, and spleen. CD238 is also expressed in many adult and fetal non-erythroid tissues, including brain and bone marrow.

The REAlease Kits consist of the respective fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes and the REAlease Support Kit for removal of the REAlease Complexes and optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes.
