Clone REAL1422 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Serotonin antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.

Clone REAL1422 recognizes Serotonin or 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), a monoamine neurotransmitter. Its biological function is complex and multifaceted, modulating mood, cognition, reward, learning, memory, and numerous physiological processes such as vomiting and vasoconstriction.] Serotonin primarily found in the enteric nervous system located in the gastrointestinal tract. It is also produced in the central nervous system (CNS) and blood platelets. Serotonin plays an important role by regulation of mood, appetite, and sleep and has cognitive functions, including memory and learning. It is also a growth factor for some types of cells. There are various serotonin receptors.
