Clone REAL1431 is an antibody fragment derived from the full KDM1A (LSD1) antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.
Clone REAL1431 recognizes the protein KDM1A (LSD1), also known as lysine (K)-specific demethylase 1A, a histone demethylase that functions as a coactivator or a corepressor. Histone demethylases (KDMs) are a family of enzymes that catalyze the removal of methyl groups from lysine and arginine residues on histone tails. KDM1A (LSD1) also acts as a coactivator of androgen receptor (AR)-dependent transcription and demethylates and stabilizes the DNA methylase DNMT1. It is required to have critical roles in embryogenesis and tissue-specific differentiation, as well as oocyte growth. KDM1A (LSD1) appears to play an important role in the epigenetic "reprogramming". Deletion of the gene for KDM1A (LSD1) can have effects on the growth and differentiation of embryonic stem cells. The accumulation of KDM1A (LSD1) has been correlated with tumor progression in certain cancers, including glioblastoma, leukemia, and osteosarcoma.
For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
