The MACS GMP PepTivator AdV Select is a peptide pool that consists of 50 lyophilized oligopeptides, consisting of MHC class I and class II restricted peptides derived from different proteins of human adenovirus (AdV), serotypes 2 and 5. It has been developed for efficient in vitro stimulation and subsequent isolation of AdV-specific CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells.

Adenoviruses (AdV) are non-enveloped, ubiquitous, lytic double‑stranded DNA viruses. Up to now, 52 different human serotypes (1–52), divided into six species (A–F), are described. AdV infections are associated with significant morbidity and mortality after hematopoetic stem cell transplantations.

The MACS GMP PepTivator AdV Select is a peptide pool of 50 lyophilized oligopeptides, consisting of MHC class I and class II restricted peptides derived from 23 proteins, of human Adenovirus (AdV) serotype -02 (E4RF3, E1B55, E1BS, E1A, DPOL, PKG3, LEAD, DNB2, PKG1, CAP6, CAPSP, CAPSH, CAP3, CAP8, Y215, COR10, SHUT, SF33K, NP, E3145, E3GL, A0A5J6SFR8) and -05 (CAPSH). The peptides are restricted for the following HLA-molecules: HLA-A*01, -A*02, -A*03, -A*24, -B*07, -B*08, -B*18, -B*35, -B*40, -B*44, -B*51, -DR1, -DR4, -DR7, -DR.

Antigen-specific T cells play a critical role in the regulation of immune responses and the elimination of virus-infected or malignant cells in the human body. Adoptive transfer of clinical-grade AdV-specific CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells is a valuable tool for the treatment of AdV infections after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (SCT).¹

The in vitro stimulation of AdV-specific CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells with MACS GMP PepTivator AdV Select causes the production of the effector cytokine IFN-gamma.

For the enrichment of AdV-specific effector/memory T cells with the use of the CliniMACS Cytokine Capture System (IFN-gamma), we recommend to use the MACS GMP PepTivator AdV hexon (170-076-106).
