Clone REA204 recognizes CD148, a receptor type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) belonging to the type III family of PTPs. CD148 is characterized by an extracellular domain with eight fibronectin type III repeats, a trans-membrane region, and a single cytosolic catalytic domain. Expression of CD148 is found on mature thymocytes, peripheral T cells, B cells, NK cells, granulocytes, macrophages, DC subpopulations, epithelial and endothelial cells, and fibroblasts. An upregulated expression of CD148 on human peripheral T cells is observed upon TCR stimulation. CD148 via regulating the phosphorylation status of substrates such as PDGFR, p120 catenin (CTND1), and SRC kinase, plays vital role in many cellular functions.

Additional information: Clone REA204 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
