Clone REAL1030 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Prostate-specific antigen antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.

Clone REAL1030 recognizes the Prostate-specific antigen (PSA), an androgen-regulated serine protease, which is also known as Kallikrein-3 (KLK3), APS, Seminin or gamma-seminoprotein. From a physiological point of view PSA is responsible for the liquefaction of the prostate secretion, it plays an important role in fertility. PSA is a glycoprotein belonging to the kallikrein-related peptidase family. It is produced by epithelial cells of the prostate gland and is used for the determination of the protein PSA in the blood serum for the early detection of prostate cancer. The Prostate-specific antigen interacts with protein C inhibitor and with the vascular endothelial growth factors VEGF-C and VEGF-D, which play a role in tumor angiogenesis and in the lymphatic metastasis of tumors.

For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
