Clone REAL657 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Caldesmon antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.

Clone REAL657 recognizes the human protein Caldesmon, which is a calmodulin binding protein that is involved in the regulation of actomyosin interactions in smooth muscle and nonmuscle cells by inhibiting the ATPase activity of myosin in smooth muscle. It is also implicated in cellular mitosis and receptor capping and plays a role in Schwann cell migration during peripheral nerve regeneration.

Clone REAL657 recognizes the high molecular mass variant of caldesmon (h-caldesmon) and does not react with the non-muscle variant.

For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
