Clone REAL1038 is an antibody fragment derived from the full CD117 (c-kit) antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAlease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.

Clone REAL1038 recognizes the human CD117 (c-kit) antigen, also known as SCF receptor, which is a 145 kDa receptor tyrosine kinase that is involved in stem cell signaling, activation, and proliferation. The CD117 (c-kit) antigen is expressed on about 1–3% of mononuclear cells from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) or cord blood, and on up to 10% of bone marrow cells. CD117 (c-kit) is further expressed on basophils, myeloid dendritic cells, TCRα/β⁺ T cells, CD19⁺ B cells, and CD56⁺ NK cells, as well as on mast cells, melanocytes, and AML (acute myeloid leukemia) blasts.

The REAlease Kits consist of the respective fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes and the REAlease Support Kit for removal of the REAlease Complexes and optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes.
