The CD31 MicroBeads, mouse, have been developed for the positive selection or depletion of CD31⁺ endothelial cells from single-cell suspensions of mouse tissues.

The CD31 antibody reacts with the cell surface protein CD31. The murine CD31 antigen is also known as PECAM-1. CD31 is a single-pass type I membrane protein containing six Ig-like C2-type domains and functions as cell adhesion molecule¹. It is present on mature endothelial cells as well as on most leukocyte subtypes and platelets² where the expression level can vary. Besides its function in cell adhesion, the protein is required for leukocyte transendothelial migration (TEM) under most inflammatory conditions³.

Mouse endothelial cells isolated with CD31 MicroBeads are immediately ready to be used for phenotype analysis, coculture experiments, or functional studies, for example, in tumor vascularization research.
