Clone REAL1489 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Napsin-A antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.

Clone REAL1489 recognizes Napsin-A, an aspartic proteinase of the pepsin family, encoded in humans by the NAPSA gene. It is expressed mainly in thelung and kidney, and is involved in the correct folding, targeting, and control of aspartic proteinase zymogens. Napsin-A may be involved in processing of pneumocyte surfactant precursors. Detection of NAPSA gene expression can be used to distinguish adenocarcinomas from other forms of lung cancer. Lack of Napsin A expression in tumor cells may be poor prognostic marker in pulmonary adenocarcinoma.

For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
