PepTivator LINE-1 is a pool of lyophilized peptides, consisting mainly of 15-mer sequences with 11 amino acids overlap, covering the complete sequence of the human LINE-1 retrotransposable element ORF1 protein, (LINE-1; UniProt ID: Q9UN81).

In vitro stimulation of antigen-specific T cells with PepTivator Peptide Pools causes the secretion of effector cytokines and the up-regulation of activation markers, which then allow the detection and and isolation of antigen-specific T cells.

Long interspersed nuclear element-1 (LINE-1) is one of the autonomous and active retrotransposons and is connected with cancer by its role in chromosomal instability and genetic heterogeneity. The LINE-1 nucleic acid-binding protein is essential for retrotransposition of LINE-1 elements in the genome. If functions as a nucleic acid chaperone binding its own transcript and therefore preferentially mobilizing the transcript from which they are encoded. LINE-1 also controls the immune system and affects the immune microenvironment with different ways. Abnormal expression of LINE-1 retrotransposon can be a strong stimuli for an innate immune response, activate the immune system, and induce autoimmunity and inflammation.

The PepTivator Peptide Pools have been specially developed for efficient in vitro stimulation of antigen-specific CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells, as peptides of 15 amino acid length with 11 amino acid overlap represent the optimized solution for stimulating both CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells in various applications. Stimulation of T cells with PepTivator Peptide Pools causes the secretion of effector cytokines and upregulation of activation markers, which then allows the detection or isolation of antigen-specific T cells. Quantitative, phenotypical, or functional analysis of antigen-specific T cell immunity can provide important information on the natural course of the natural course of immune responses.
