Recombinant MCP-1 (MCAF) is a bioactive protein intended for use in cell culture applications. MCP-1 is structurally related to the CC subfamily of cytokines. Members of this subfamily are characterized by two adjacent cysteines. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils but not for neutrophils or eosinophils.
