Clone REA150 recognizes CD319, which is a single-pass type I transmembrane protein. CD319 belongs to the SLAM-related receptors (SRRs) family, a subgroup of the CD2 family of Ig-like receptors. Expression of CD319 is found on activated B lymphocytes, natural killer (NK) cells, CD8+T lymphocytes, and mature dendritic cells. The cytoplasmic domain of CD319 contains immunoreceptor tyrosine-based switch motifs (ITSMs), which provide the docking sites for recruitment of small SH2-containing adapter proteins, such as SH2D1A/SLAM-associated protein (SAP) and EWS activated transcript 2 (EAT-2). CD319 displays homophilic interaction and is involved in mediating NK cell cytotoxicity, in the absence of an inhibitory receptor engagement.
Additional information: Clone REA150 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
