Stimulate T cells reactive to the CFP-10 antigen of Mycobacterium tuberculosis using PepTivator^® Peptide Pools. PepTivators are pools of lyophilized peptides, consisting mainly of 15-mer sequences with 11 amino acids overlap. PepTivator M. tuberculosis CFP-10 is a peptide pool covering the complete sequence of the CFP-10 protein (UniProtKB Acc. no. P9WNK5).

In vitro stimulation of antigen-specific T cells with PepTivator Peptide Pools causes the secretion of effector cytokines and the up-regulation of activation markers, which then allow the detection and isolation of antigen-specific T cells.

Tuberculosis (TB) caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. According to the WHO a quarter of the world’s population is infected with M. tuberculosis. While most infections are latent and asymptomatic, about 5–10% of infections progress to active disease. TB persists as a serious global health threat, requiring new vaccines and therapeutics to combat multidrug resistance. CFP-10 (culture filtrate protein 10 kDa) is a secreted antigen of M. tuberculosis that plays a key role in virulence. CFP-10 forms a 1:1 heterodimeric complex with ESAT-6 (early secreted antigenic target 6 kDa) that is secreted via the ESX-1 secretion system and attaches to the cell membrane of host macrophages and monocytes.
