Luminex® xMAP® Technology—An Effective and Proven Analytical Tool
For the past 10 years, xMAP® technology has gained wide acceptance as a multiplex tool for use in a variety of applications, including protein expression profiling, focused gene expression profiling, and disease testing. The Luminex® 200™ and FLEXMAP 3D® instruments use xMAP® technology by combining fluorescent bead-based assays with flow cytometry, two lasers, real-time digital signal processing, and xPONENT® software to distinguish bead color (analyte) and assay signal strength (PE) fluorescence intensity.

The MAGPIX® system utilizes xMAP® technology in a new instrument built on light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for excitation, a CCD camera for bead and analyte detection, and high-speed digital signal processors. Simple, out-of-the-box set-up allows researchers to rapidly perform singleplex or multiplex assays of up to 50 targets in single biological samples. Magnetic Beads Let You Do More with Your Time
Luminex® brand assays for the MAGPIX system are built on Luminex's MagPlex® magnetic microsphere platform. These assays take advantage of the magnetic beads workflow, which simplifies wash steps and reduces variability in results. They are compatible with both vacuum and magnetic wash stations as well as other Luminex® xMAP® platforms. Using the fast and easy Luminex® protocols, you can get your results in as little as 3.5 hours. The new line of Luminex® magnetic-bead based multiplex assays was carefully designed and tested for maximum sensitivity, range, and correlation. Using the same components as our polystyrene bead assays allows for performance with identical quality and consistency. Standard curves generated with this assay system extend over several orders of magnitude of reagent concentrations, while the sensitivity and quality of the assays are comparable to both ELISAs and our polystyrene bead assays, enabling superior performance. The MAGPIX® system may also be used with Luminex® magnetic bead-based assays from other providers.
